The time frame of 1745 to 1785 is known as The Age of Sensibility. It is also known as The Age of Johnson.
The Neoclassical Period (1660-1785):
The Neoclassical Age comprises three shorter ages:
The Restoration Period (1660-1700)
The Augustan Age (1702-1745)
The Age of Sensibility (1745-1785)
The writer of the Neoclassical Period imitated the style of ancient Greek and Roman writers. Though they imitated the Greek and Roman tradition but lacked the originality of the writers of that period.
